ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development will assume responsibility for creating and overseeing the organization's primary learning and development programs and processes. Collaborating closely with the Director of Learning & Development, they will strategize and implement key learning solutions for all team members. In this leadership position, they will support and guide the learning and development team members, fostering the continual growth of their skills and knowledge.

The role involves developing learning solutions, improving learning effectiveness, establishing productive relationships with managers and stakeholders, and overseeing the coordination, management, and maintenance of training initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Manager will analyze program utilization, gather employee feedback, and assess workforce productivity to ensure a cost-effective mix of programs is offered. Collaboration with Nando’s North America operations team is crucial to ensure the delivery of best-in-class learning and development programming.

This position requires a strong background in instructional design and adult learning to effectively lead and contribute to the content development team. Like all members of the Nando’s family, the Senior Manager of Learning and Development is expected to wear multiple hats, actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement for both Nando’s and themselves, and consistently demonstrate good teamwork.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

Learning and Development Strategy

  • Lead instructional design and training team to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy aligned with Nando's culture and the three-year plan.
  • Create high-potential leadership programs for succession planning and growth.
  • Develop training materials for in-person sessions, including New Restaurant Openings.
  • Design blended learning solutions with coaching, classroom training, 1:1 session, action learning, and e-learning.
  • Establish a framework and metrics for analyzing and measuring the success of programs.
  • Design tailored training plans for operations and restaurant support teams, focusing on technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise and support training needs, particularly at New Restaurant Openings.

Learning and Development Support

  • Develop engaging learning content, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, simulations, and multimedia materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to align with business objectives.
  • Provide support to the learning and development team, assisting with training for operations and restaurant support teams.
  • Work as an internal consultant for necessary training content or material.
  • Lead learning solutions, including needs analysis, research, instructional design, and material development on the LMS system.
  • Analyze and report program performance, manage the Learning Management System and training content.
  • Partner with content development and department heads for functional training content on the eLearning platform.
  • Assist in executing training classes or rollouts, partnering with the current vendor.
  • Support the team with Train the Trainer, Shift Lead, and MIT program expansion.
  • Review and report on training designs, materials, and curriculum plans.
  • Utilize LMS reporting for planning and managing training initiatives.
  • Analyze data from assessments, supporting the director in managing the training program budget.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years in Learning & Development, instructional design, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; portfolio showcasing e-learning development projects.
  • Expert in ADDIE Model and adult learning principles;

Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Advanced in adult learning, training procedures, and curriculum planning.
  • Expertise in learning theories, instructional design models; proficient in Microsoft and Adobe.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Manage high-volume communication; collaborate across all levels independently.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; utilize LMS reporting capabilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel up to 25% within Nando’s markets.
  • Support learning and development team; collaborate with vendors.
